Catherine K. Pogue, better known to her family and friends, as “Nan” was the grandmother of proprietors Ken and Bob Long.
On March 20, 2002 Nan passed away at 94 years of age. Her passing left a huge void in the lives of the people who loved her.
At the time of her death she had 2 daughters, 9 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. Being the head of such a devoted family was an honor that she carried with an immense amount of pride.
Nan proved that getting old was not a bad thing, but in fact, that you are never too old to sit back and have a beer. She WAS the life of the party. Whether leading a group of people in song or sitting down to a game of ‘chug a lug” she lived life to the fullest.
Just before the second anniversary of her death, Ken and Bob purchased this establishment. When asked about a name, they all agreed without hesitation that naming the restaurant after Nan would be a great tribute to a great woman, as well as a way to keep her memory alive.
